Propane Training for Safe Construction: Safeline Expert Program
It is once again that special time in Toronto where we can experience all four seasons in one week. From record breaking heat to below zero temperatures. October truly is a wonderful weather month. But don’t worry the Pumpkin Spice Latte has also returned so its not all bad.
As always, with changing weather conditions we must begin to adapt our construction sites. Part of that is ensuring that our staff is trained in the proper procedures for site maintenance. This includes propane training. Sites throughout the city will soon be putting in their orders for their temporary heater units. If those units will be powered by propane tanks than your staff needs to have an up to date training in the handling of propane.
Propane is commonly used within construction projects across Ontario, the dangers can be often overlooked. If precautions are not taken, extensive damage to life and property can occur. Safeline’s training program is designed to provide the information and practice necessary for construction workers to be able to safety connect, activate, and disconnect heaters, torchers, and propane powered equipment of less than 400,000 Btu/h, in accordance with Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) Construction Heater Operator 2 (CH-02) requirements.
Participants will learn:
- Propane hazards
- Legislation requirements and regulations
- Safe Practices
- Proper procedures of connection, activation and disconnection
Note: This course includes the Fire Extinguisher Basics component as applicable.
