This training focuses on teaching supervisors their roles and responsibilities under the OHSA. All employers are required to appoint a Competent Supervisor to provide information and instruction for the Health and Safety of workers in the workplace. Under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), a supervisor is defined as a person who either has charge of a workplace or authority over a worker. Any person in a Supervisory Position (crew leader, foreman, site supervisor, manager etc.) which Directs, Controls, Instructs or otherwise supervises the actions of workers is required to have adequate training for this purpose.

Through the knowledge gained in this program supervisors will be equipped to handle various health and safety situations that may occur on the job.
